Launching the Timecrack Demo Instance
We’re excited to announce the launch of the official Timecrack demo instance! You can now try Timecrack directly in your browser without installing anything — just head over to demo.timecrack.org and start exploring.
Why a Demo Instance?
Getting a feel for a self-hosted tool before committing to a deployment can be tricky. You have to set up a server, install dependencies, and configure everything just to see if it’s the right fit. The demo instance removes that friction entirely.
It’s a functional Timecrack installation running on our infrastructure, pre-loaded with sample data so you can see the platform in action right away.
What You Can Try
The demo gives you access to all of Timecrack’s core features:
- Projects & Tasks — Browse the sample projects, create new ones, and organize tasks.
- Time Tracking — Start and stop timers, log manual time entries, and see how hours are tracked across projects.
- Reports — Generate reports on time spent and explore the analytics dashboard.
- User Management — See how multi-user accounts work with different roles and permissions.
- Search — Use full-text search to find projects, tasks, and time entries instantly.
How It Works
The demo instance resets periodically so every visitor gets a clean experience. Any data you enter will be temporary — it’s a playground, not a production environment. This means you can experiment freely without worrying about breaking anything.
Ready to Self-Host?
If you like what you see in the demo, setting up your own instance is straightforward. Check out the Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions, or use the Docker setup for a containerized deployment.
You can also grab the latest release directly from the GitHub repository.
